 Key Quotes From the Episode:

“There’s no doubt that we are one of the hardest working departments in any organisation. We’re here to report accurate information but also support the front office, whatever that may be.” [04:24]

“[To get noticed] I worked extremely well with a client, I realised that we were in a client service industry and while it was important for us to get the audit done it was just as important, if not more important to ensure that our clients were happy and not frustrated in dealing with us.” [07:11]

“[Even though an intern] If I was important enough to be in the same room as anyone else I’d treat them as an equal.” [09:36]

“To me change represents opportunity and opportunity is up to you and how you’d like to shape your career and your landscape. Yes it is important to understand what the  business’ or organisation’s top priorities are and as long as you can create or leverage your strengths to support those goals in whatever ways that that may be [then] there’s a lot of opportunity for success and improvement.” [13:04]

“The way to grow is not to cut costs, costs need to be maintained, but the way you’re going to grow your business is to grow your revenue and to be part of that decision making is very critical .” [17:02]

“[Why self-reflection and time away from the office is important] If you are not healthy mentally or physically you cannot be your best self in the office.” [26:29]

“People are good human beings, and if that’s what you need [support from work] then people will support you.” [28:00]
